Te Whakaruruhau o Ngā Reo Irirangi Māori is proud to announce that submissions are now open for the 2025 Iwi Radio Awards – a national event that recognises and celebrates excellence in iwi radio broadcasting and our collective efforts to uplift te reo Māori me ōna tikanga across Aotearoa.

Event Date: Saturday 18 October 2025
Venue: Pettigrew Green Arena, Napier

After a six-year hiatus, we are excited to bring our iwi radio whānau back together to showcase the incredible content you produce every day – from local news and current affairs, waiata, haka and the celebration of our diverse mita, hitori and hapori.

This is your chance to share the stories, shows, talent and innovation that demonstrate the power of iwi radio to meaningfully connect and engage with our whānau, marae, hapu and iwi - every day.

Stations are invited to submit their best content for each award category. Eligible entries must have been broadcast, produced, or published between 1 January 2019 and 31 December 2024. Each station may submit one entry, per category.

Statement of Expectations

The Iwi Radio Awards celebrates the exceptional talent and contributions of Māori broadcasters and those behind the scenes in the Māori radio industry. As the organisers, we are committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all involved.

We expect all participants—whether nominees, sponsors, partners, contractors, judges, award winners, or attendees—to uphold the following principles:

Respect and Fairness: Treat everyone with dignity, fairness, and respect.
Professional Conduct: Act in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
Responsibility and Integrity: Act responsibly and with integrity, ensuring honesty and transparency in all dealings.
